Dr Michael O’Gorman introduced our suite of medical services to South Yarra in 2007, with the opening of the old 740 Chapel Street practice OGAM Medical-Skin-Cosmetic. We have now moved across the road to a new site at 633 Chapel Street South Yarra with a new name Plexus Medical & Cosmetic (in South Yarra). Dr O’Gorman focuses exclusively on Cosmetic Medicine as does Dr Shams Shamid who is widely know as a highly experienced Cosmetic Physician with a reputation for cutting edge techniques. Dr Poonam Chuni, leads the medical team providing a world class standard in Specialist General Practice with a special focus on Nutritional Support in health and wellbeing, informed by her post graduate study in this field. Dr Mais Ali provides the same world class standard in Specialist General Practice but with a special focus on skin. Her post graduate expertise includes skin conditions, skin cancer and cosmetics.

Billing policy

Please note we are now a privately billing practice. The out-of-pocket fee will be $50.00 for all general consultations (not including procedures). If you are an existing patient who has previously been bulk-billed, continuation will be at the discretion of management only.

For services where Medicare rebate applies, your rebate is processed for your convenience by the OGAM admin team at the time of payment.

OGAM offers eftpos, credit card, and cash payment options.

HICAPS rebates for private health insurance refundable services are also processed for you at OGAM (such as extra’s insurance for psychology).

Doctors will advise the patient of the out of pocket expenses prior to any medical procedure. This includes Cervical Screening and contraceptive implant removal and insertion.

Out of Hours Medical Care

What do you do if you’re not feeling well and OGAM is closed?

If it’s not an emergency, you can call our after hours home visits service by ‘Doctor Doctor’ on 13 26 60. A doctor can be arranged to attend to you at home, and the visit will be bulk billed.

OGAM does not benefit from this arrangement financially. We have chosen ‘Doctor Doctor’ as our preferred provider and they will call us if they need to liaise with us, and they provide us with a written report detailing the after hours care given so as we have continuity of care. The best medical care results from a coordinated and collaborative relationship built on trust between the after hours doctor, the GP and the patient.

The after hours service operates every day of the year from 6pm until 8am weekdays, on weekends from 12 noon Saturday through to 8am on Monday, and all day on public holidays.
